GDM were appointed to Design the mechanical, electrical and public health services to this baptist church in Horsham.
The redevelopment of the existing church provides a new integrated and unified facility including a Sanctuary, flexible hall, meeting rooms and crèche, together with ancillary accommodation. All elements are linked by an internal street and hub. This internal street links the pedestrian access on Brighton Road with the proposed access from New Street car park and contains the vertical circulation (lifts and stairs), as well as toilets, kitchen and information desk at its heart.
The existing Church was completely demolished by a specialist contractor, with all services capped off for re-use where applicable.
Ground floor includes an underfloor heating system incorporated into the screed, with each room separately thermostatically controlled; upper floors to include radiators. Other services designed include hot and cold water supplies, lighting and power, ventilation and a lightning protection system.
