IKEA Dublin features in Constructireland magazine
The IKEA store at Ballymun featured recently in the popular sustainable magazine Construct Ireland in an article by John Hearne.
The article focuses on the sustainable energy credentials of the building and the success of the largest ground source installation of its type in Ireland which supports the GDM services design.
We carried out evaluations on all feasible renewables technologies, which resulted in a closed loop ground source heating and cooling system, working alongside a biomass boiler installation for this project, passive solar control was also applied to the south façade.
Our environmental performance statement and carbon emission predictions estimate that these renewable solutions will achieve the 60% carbon saving, and 30% on-site renewable targets set by the Local Authority for this project.
